Let me preface this post by saying… I don’t particularly love Christmas. (Gasp! Shock! Horror! Did she say she doesn’t like Christmas? Who is she, The Grinch?)
I don’t love Christmas, however, a few years ago I went to Disney World in December for the first time. The Christmas magic that I had been missing for so long finally came back to me on that trip. It was my first solo trip and I spent my first night at Hollywood Studios for my first and last time experiencing the Osbourne Lights.
The second I walked onto the Streets of America, I began to cry. It was beautiful, it was magical, and it was “snowing” but I didn’t have to wear a coat (trust me, to this girl that is an important detail.) From that moment on, I was a convert. I would enjoy Christmas- but only if I had some Disney holiday magic involved.
Unfortunately, this year I won’t be making it down to the Sunshine State for the holidays for the first time in a few years. To help bring some of that Disney joy into my life, I’ve decided to write a list of my top 12 small shop Disney holiday gifts. If I had a Disney-loving True Love to buy me 12 days of Christmas gifts, this is what I would pick. But, since that is not the case I will have to settle for using my imagination this time around.
On the first day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
A Set of Joy Mouse Cozies from Foolish Bad Apple Co.!
I’m sure you’ve seen me with a million cozies on my cup of Starbucks or wearing custom ears my friend Lisa has made me. Well, now she finally has launched a shop! She has a few ready to ship items listed, but she does custom orders as well.
On the second day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
A Hawaiian Christmas Crop Top from Flying Elephant Apparel.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t upset when Flying Elephant announced in the beginning of November that they were going to close down shop for a while. In September I received my first order from them and absolutely loved it. I am the proud owner of a Mimosas & Mickey Waffles Tee and it is one of my favorite small shop shirts ever. Flying Elephant luckily still released their Christmas collection and there is still stock left- including this Mele Kalikimaka top. I’ve been listening to Jimmy Buffet’s Christmas albums non-stop this holiday season and it definitely has me thinking of spending Christmas next year on an island. This girl may live in the Northeast, but I am NOT cut out for this cold weather.
On the third day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
These absolutely adorable Christmas cards from The Painted Mouse.
I strongly encourage you to spend some time going through the Etsy page and/or Instagram page for The Painted Mouse. The drawings themselves are whimsical and they do so much more than just stationary and prints- although they do those well too. I printed my own Christmas cards this year, but this is a great option for the Disney lover that hasn’t had time and wants to send some magic to people’s mailboxes for the holidays.
On the fourth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
A pair of Poinsettia & Holly Floral Wire Ears from Starshine Supply Co.
I know you all remember that beautiful white & blue set of floral ears I wore to the preview of Pandora- the ones that light up. Well, Starshine Supply Co. makes my favorite floral ears- and Christmas isn’t an exception. Honestly, I don’t think there is anything they can’t do- they’ve even created a floral Rose Gold ear set!
On the fifth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
The Very Merry 2oz Lotion Variety Pack from Blue Fairy Body Shop.
I recently just tried some of their products for the first time and I loved them! My friend Lisa sent me some goodies from them in the mail. I received a lotion and lip balm in Ohana (so good!) and Fragrance Mist in Beach Club.
Last time I checked there were only 3 Very Merry packs left- so if you are interested I would grab one now! Especially because the Once Upon A Christmastime scent sounds absolutely amazing.
On the sixth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
A Christmas Around The World Candle & Wax Melt From Walter & Rosie Candle Co.
Walter & Rosie Candle Co. is my go to for all things Disney scented. My room smells like the lobby of the Polynesian at all times. I’ve been known to burn Jambo and reminisce about staying at my favorite resort- Animal Kingdom Lodge. Recently I even completely burned through my Spaceship Earth scented candles.
I haven’t tried any of their holiday scents yet, but this is described as “cranberries layered on sweet kettle corn.” That description alone has me completely intrigued.
On the seventh day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
Baby It’s Cold Outside Ears from Aloha Ears Design
I almost feel bad taunting you by putting this on my list since they are sold out and I know that every person reading this is going to want a pair. These ears not only look like magic, but they are created with magic as well. Okay… not magic- 3D printing. Almost the same thing, right?
I actually won a pair of ears over the summer from Aloha Ears and they sent me the most amazing pair of Tower of Terror ears. (I posted them on my instagram, you can check it out here.) These ears are unique, sturdy, and beautiful so if you’ve been thinking about trying a pair of these out I would certainly suggest it!
On the eighth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
An I’ll Be Home For Christmas sweatshirt from Stewart Avenue
Yes, I’m aware I won’t be “home” for Christmas this year. But since I’m living in a dreamworld by writing this list anyway, I’ll just go with it. I absolutely love the look of the flannel appliqué. Since each shirt has a slightly different cut of fabric, your shirt is technically one of a kind!
On the ninth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
The Season’s Screamings Sweatshirt from Park Hoppers on Parade.
The best thing about this Christmas sweatshirt is that it incorporates my actual favorite holiday- Halloween. It looks cozy and hauntingly delightful.
I’ve previously ordered from Park Hoppers on Parade and if you haven’t already checked out their website, I highly suggest you do so. They have some really fun (and free!) things for you- like phone & computer wallpapers and some great playlists.
On the tenth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
A Tower Christmas Tee from Castle Crate.
There are at least three things that immediately drew me to this tee. 1. Tower of Terror is featured which is, as most of you know, my favorite Disney ride. 2. It gives me a sense of nostalgia for MGM. and 3. It is subtle Disney that any fan would recognize but doesn’t scream Disney if you wear it with an everyday look.
Castle Crate just recently launched on December 2nd and are already stocked with numerous designs that I love. I would also suggest checking out their “A Very Monorail Christmas” tee, which I would totally rock in a three quarter sleeve raglan.
On the eleventh day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
Eleven… get it? Okay enough with the bad Stranger Things jokes and onward to the amazing Stranger Things inspired tee…
A Welcome Foolish Mortals Lights Tee from The Lost Bro.’s
I was late to the game when it came to Stranger Things. I decided to binge watch both seasons. And then Beyond Stranger Things. I get it now… I totally get it. Cody & Colton are creative geniuses and they’ve done it again with this shirt. (And of course, Kingdomchella! If you haven’t already checked out the details- do it! I’m trying to make it down in April for this crazy cool event.)
On the twelfth day of Christmas my imaginary Disney-loving True Love gave to me…
A Wonderful World Enamel Ornament from Magical Monograms.
I’m fairly sure I could have written an entire list of holiday items from Magical Monograms that I would like to order. For the sake of my time and yours, I advise you to go take a look at their holiday page and see for yourself.
This ornament has so many wonderful details from the parks we love and What A Wonderful World is a song that puts tears in my eyes. Put the two together and you have a beautiful and sentimental piece that would be a treasure to have on your tree every year. One thing I didn’t include on my list is my favorite tee from Once Upon Apparel (formerly Once Upon A Mickey Tee). That’s because I bought my cousins and I all matching “In My Favorite Place With My Favorite People” holiday edition tees last year for our Christmas trip. I’m a sucker for matching shirts at Disney. Wearing these tees with my cousins to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an experience I will forever cherish.
So that’s my round up of my personal favorite holiday items from some of my favorite small shops. Everyone has gotten really creative this year and there is so much to choose from! I originally had a list of 33 favorites I had to narrow down for this list. So, go explore some shops on your own and let me know what YOUR favorites are this year!
